A black rubber ring frames the dial within a rounded steel case. The weekday and date sit together at 6 o'clock for a quick calendar check.
DESIGN
The rounded case and angular lugs give the Oris TT1 Day Date 2000 its distinctive shape. On reference 01 635 7518 4464-07 8 24 01, the curved steel body meets block-like attachments where the bracelet joins the watch. A stationary black rubber ring surrounds the dial, adding another material to the steel construction.
That rubber ring is worth a closer look. Even with a steel bracelet, rubber remains a visible part of the watch. The black dial and ring contrast with the silver case and bracelet, carrying the dark centre through to the edge of the case.
Look inside that ring, and you'll find a finely patterned dial centre, large numerals at 12, 3 and 9, and round hour markers between them. The weekday and date sit side by side at 6 o'clock. Broad hour and minute hands have luminous filling, while a slender seconds hand keeps the centre from looking crowded.
FUNCTIONS
The watch shows the time, weekday, and date in one display. Separate crown positions let you adjust the calendar and set the time without winding the hands through whole days. You'll need to correct the date after months shorter than 31 days. When setting the time, the seconds hand stops, allowing you to synchronise it with a time signal.
Take care when correcting the calendar. Avoid rapid day or date adjustment between 21:00 and 03:00, when the mechanism is engaged. Oris's general instructions advise moving the hands forward past a date change to 05:00 before correcting, then setting the time to the correct morning or afternoon cycle.
The automatic Oris calibre 635 winds through wrist movement and has a published power reserve of 38 hours. If you leave it unworn over a weekend, it may need restarting. Oris generally recommends 12 clockwise crown turns in the winding position before resetting the displays. Check how the crown releases and secures on your watch, and return it to its secured position when you finish.
ON THE WRIST
At 42 mm across, the case is only part of the fit picture. The 24 mm space between the lugs creates a broad bracelet connection, and the angular attachments are worth considering alongside the diameter when you assess how it sits on your wrist.
The stainless-steel bracelet fastens with a folding deployant clasp. Visually, it carries the silver metal around the wrist beneath the black dial and rubber ring. If that contrast appeals to you, it is a defining part of this bracelet version's appearance; the dimensions alone cannot tell you how comfortable it will feel.
PRICE GUIDE
The TT1 Day Date 2000 is discontinued, with 2000 appearing in Oris's official model name. If you want to understand what a similar new Oris costs today, the steel-bracelet ProPilot Date, reference 01 733 7805 4164-07 8 20 04LC, has a Malaysian retail price of RM11,500. It offers a 41 mm steel case and black dial, though it displays the date without the weekday and has a different case and bezel design.
Overseas pre-owned prices for the bracelet version are approximately RM2,200–RM2,700, including historical offers.
