DESIGN
Blue is what brings the TAG Heuer Aquaracer WAY201B.BA0927 together. The dial and ceramic bezel insert share the colour, but the dial has more than a plain blue surface. Look closer, and you'll find horizontal grooves across its sunray finish, giving it a texture that sets this Aquaracer apart.
Around the dial, the bezel's twelve-sided outline and six raised gripping features give the watch its recognisable shape. Silver-coloured numerals stand against the blue insert, while the surrounding steel case, angular lugs and crown protection complete the diving-watch design.
The dial details follow the same clear approach. Polished hands and applied, faceted hour markers carry luminous markings, while a magnifier above the date window enlarges the 3 o'clock numeral. It also adds a distinct raised detail to the sapphire crystal.
FUNCTIONS
For everyday reading, you have hours, minutes, central seconds and the date. The date has a quick-adjustment function, so you can correct it separately from setting the time.
The bezel gives you a straightforward way to track elapsed minutes. Turn it to align the luminous starting marker with the minute hand, then read the elapsed time against the 60-minute scale as the hand moves. It turns in one direction, and luminous markings on the hands, hour markers, and bezel help you read it in reduced light. The watch was originally rated to 300 metres; before using it in water, have its current water resistance checked.
The automatic Calibre 5 winds through your wrist movements, which turn a rotor inside the movement. Its published power reserve is approximately 38 hours when fully wound. Leave it unworn long enough, and it will stop, so you’ll need to wind it and reset the time before wearing it again. Follow the watch's manual for the recommended winding procedure.
ON THE WRIST
At 43mm, this Aquaracer gives you a clear starting point when considering size. Its steel case has angular lugs, so consider how the whole case sits on your wrist rather than choosing by diameter alone.
The original three-row steel bracelet continues the metal construction around your wrist, fastening with a folding clasp, safety push-buttons and a diving extension. Its fine-brushed surfaces and polished edges frame the blue dial and bezel, keeping the strongest colour at the watch head. If that blue-and-steel combination is what draws you to this Aquaracer, the bracelet is an important part of the look.
