DESIGN

The blue sunray dial gives the TAG Heuer Formula 1 Date WAZ1118.BA0875 its main colour. Around it, the steel bezel and brushed bracelet keep the look simple, letting the dial's surface finish stand out.

The bezel's 60-minute scale adds a timing detail around the display. Applied hour markers and the hour and minute hands carry white Super-LumiNova, while the date window sits at 3 o'clock.

Fine-brushed and polished surfaces give the steel case different finishes, with the brushed bracelet continuing the look onto the wrist. The dial texture, marked bezel, and steel finishing add detail.

FUNCTIONS

The quartz movement runs on a battery, so you do not need to wind the watch. It displays hours, minutes, central seconds and the date. As a general guide, a new quartz watch battery lasts around two to three years, although the interval varies.

To adjust it, unscrew the crown, use the intermediate position for the date, and pull it further out for the time. Screw the crown closed afterwards. Avoid adjusting the date between 10 pm and 2 am, following the brand's general precaution.

You can use the rotating bezel to track elapsed minutes without stopping the watch. Align its starting marker with the minute hand, then read the minutes passed against the scale. For periods longer than an hour, track the full hours separately.

The original water-resistance rating is 200 metres. Before using the watch in water, have its current water resistance checked rather than relying on that rating alone.

ON THE WRIST

The case measures 41mm across and 11.65mm thick. Consider both measurements when deciding how much watch you want on your wrist: the diameter describes its width, while the thickness gives you a sense of its depth. The blue dial adds colour to the steel case and bracelet.

Bracelet sizing is the other part of the fit. Adjusting its length lets you position the watch on your wrist, and the steel folding clasp closes with double safety. A driving extension adds length for wearing over a racing-suit sleeve; it serves a different purpose than sizing the bracelet for everyday wear.

The Formula 1 WAZ1118.BA0875 is still offered new in Malaysia at an official retail price of RM8,250, as of 13 October 2026.
