DESIGN

Black ceramic is central to the TAG Heuer Formula 1 WBJ141AB.BA0973. It appears alongside polished steel in both the bezel and bracelet, with the black dial bringing those elements together. If the material combination appeals to you, it carries through the whole watch rather than appearing as a single accent.

The lacquered dial has eleven diamond hour markers. These provide the decoration within the face, while the surrounding steel-and-ceramic bezel continues the black-and-silver contrast.

A round, polished steel case completes the design, with sapphire crystal over the dial. The polished finish continues into the bracelet, giving way to fine-brushed steel at the clasp.

FUNCTIONS

The watch keeps things straightforward: hours, minutes, seconds and a date display, powered by a quartz movement. It runs on a battery, so you do not need to wind it regularly.

The bezel is fixed, so it does not turn to measure elapsed time. There is no stopwatch function; this Formula 1 focuses on telling the time and showing the date.

Its original water-resistance rating is 100 metres. Before taking it into water, have its water resistance checked, as the condition of the seals matters when buying used.

ON THE WRIST

With a case measuring 32mm across and 9.63mm thick, this Formula 1 is a compact option if you prefer smaller case dimensions. The steel-and-ceramic bracelet fastens with a push-button folding clasp.

Check the bracelet's fitted length and whether spare links are included before buying. The case size alone will not tell you whether the bracelet is long enough for your wrist.

PRICE GUIDE

The WBJ141AB.BA0973 is discontinued. For a new watch with a compact steel bracelet configuration and diamond hour markers, the closest supplied option is the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph WBP1313.BA0005 at RM13,900 in Malaysia. It has a slightly larger 34mm case, a white mother-of-pearl dial and a solar-powered quartz movement, with an all-steel bracelet.

Overseas pre-owned prices are approximately RM4,300–RM7,600, including historical advertised prices rather than the current range.
