IWC Introduces Two George Russell Limited-Edition Pilot's Watches
IWC has introduced two George Russell limited-edition Pilot's Watches featuring black ceramic cases, blue accents, and the driver's signature number 63.
IWC Schaffhausen has introduced two limited-edition Pilot's Watches created in collaboration with George Russell, driver of the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team.
The release includes the Pilot's Watch Chronograph 41 George Russell and the Pilot's Watch Automatic 41 George Russell. Both feature black ceramic cases, black dials, blue accents inspired by Russell's signature racing colour, titanium case backs engraved with the number 63, and blue rubber straps.
The chronograph is powered by the IWC-manufactured 69380 calibre, while the automatic model uses the 32112 calibre. Both watches were developed with input from Russell and continue IWC's long-standing connection with Formula One.
What We Noticed
What stays with us is that these feel more like George Russell watches than Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS watches.
The Pilot's Watch design remains familiar, but the eye keeps returning to the details linked to the driver. Blue numerals sit against the black dial. Blue lume appears in the hands. A blue rubber strap wraps around the wrist. Turn the watch over, and the number 63 is engraved on the case back. Together, they create the picture of a black ceramic Pilot's Watch built around Russell's signature colour.
